Lopar is placed on a peninsula on the northern part of the island. 14 km away from the town centre, city Rab. It is famous for the legend that says it is the birth place of St. Marin, founder and patron of one of the oldest republics in the world-„San Marino“. Geographical development and sand are its greatest treasure. City has 22 sandy beaches and one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic coast- Paradise beach, 1500m long. Ideal with its warm sand and shallow water for small children, nonswimmers and elderly. It has a very high quality private accommodation in form of apartments and family pensions. There is also a campsite „San Marino“ and hotel complex „San Marino“. Among other tourist facilities-sports and recreation( tennis courts, mini golf, beach volleyball, handball, football, basketball and fun in form of waterslide, diving boards, jet-ski, parachute, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, scuba diving).
